A man was flown to hospital by helicopter on Saturday night at Dunnottar Castle.
The man is thought to have fallen at an inaccessible part of the castle, near Stonehaven.
He was winched to safety by helicopter and flown to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after the coastguard received a reports around 5.30pm of a man with injuries to his leg. ed from a precarious position at a north-east castle.
Exact details of his injuries are not known.
A coastguard spokesman said: “The Stonehaven coastguard rescue team attended after calls of an injured male at Dunnottar Castle.
“He was flown to ARI by the coastguard rescue helicopter which was met by a team from Aberdeen coastguard at the landing site.”
