Plans have been submitted to Aberdeenshire Council for a new McDonalds drive-thru in the ASDA Portlethen carpark.
The plans (shown) would the see a purpose-built drive-thru building erected at the rear of the car park. In order to account for this, the current petrol pumps will need alterations. It is planned that the pumps will change orientation. It is also expected that the number of car parking spaces will be reduced to accommodate the building.
Last week ASDA submitted new schematics for the drive-thru building featuring the McDonalds logo.
Ian Cheadle on behalf of Matalan, who occupy a building in Portlethen retail part, brought forward concerns about litter and food waste, which would exacerbate the gull problem. He also identified anti-social activity as a problem saying “outlets such as these can easily become the hub of unwanted out-of-hours activity.”
