Pub chain, Jute, Jam & Journalism Inns has reportedly pulled out of opening a Stonehaven pub after a series of disagreements with the owner of the Hook and Eye.
They were initially planning to take over the venue and rebrand it as “The Jam Jar Bar” and were planning to serve hot and cold snacks, coffee and food.
All reference to the opening of the Stonehaven establishment has now been deleted.
In a post on Facebook, the London based pub chain blamed Natasha Stevenson owner of the Hook and Eye, for failing to “comply and complete”
The issue initially arose when the pub chain paid a £15,000 security deposit to have a gas meter installed after failure to pay had resulted in its removal.
Allegations were also made of the Hook and Eye’s “illegal disposal of sanitary waste” amongst other violations of the health and safety ode.
The post on Facebook, which has now been removed, implies that legal action will follow.
